Common reasons to seek help

- Moisture behind finishes
- High indoor humidity after water intrusion
Safety first
Do not run fans across sewage-contaminated material or unsafe electrical areas.
For immediate threats to life, fire, gas or structural collapse, call 911. This is general information, not an emergency diagnosis.
What an independent provider may assess
Independent technicians may use moisture meters, hygrometers, air movers, dehumidifiers and monitored drying goals.
Ask the selected provider for a written assessment, proof of qualifications where applicable, the estimated scope and how work will be documented. We do not conduct inspections or own restoration equipment.
Insurance documentation
Ask for moisture documentation and a written scope that explains what was measured and when drying goals were met.
Coverage is determined by the insurer and policy, not by Veterans Water Restoration.
Structural Drying & Dehumidification FAQ
How long does structural drying take?
It depends on materials, water category and conditions. Many jobs take several days, but readings, not the calendar, decide when it is done.
Can I use household fans instead?
Fans can help with small surface spills, but they do not remove moisture from the air like dehumidifiers, and they can spread contamination.
Why does drying equipment stay after the floor looks dry?
Water trapped in framing, subfloors or wall cavities may still read wet on a moisture meter.
Questions worth asking
Is a restoration crew guaranteed?
No. We connect visitors with independent providers when possible; availability, scheduling and prices are their responsibility.
Do I need an inspection before a price?
An independent provider may need to assess water source, affected materials and contamination before issuing a reliable estimate.
